Blog EntryMerry Christmas Everyone!Dec 25, '07 1:49 PM
for everyone
I know it is not December 25 anymore but I believe it is still appropriate to greet people with this acknowledgement of the holiday season. And besides, according to the doctrine of the priest during the misa de gallo I attended with my family last night: Christmas does not end on the eve of December 25, rather it is the beginning of this festive season.

And so, yes, I repeat, Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

****************

It is our family's first time to celebrate Christmas on our new home. There is nothing much to talk about though. It still felt the same thing as the past Christmas we had spent as a family.

Though I know it is cliche but the company of each other is enough for this Christmas to be worthwhile.

The amount of food that I ate did not change as well. It was still plenty. In fact, I was the last one to finish my meal during our family midnight gathering, or more commonly known as the Noche Buena.

I was so stuffed that I had to force myself to do something worthwhile and time consuming before retiring to bed because I was afraid I might have an encounter with the nightmare man or in scientific term, pancreatitis. Haha!

****************

This morning, many of my cousins visited our house.

I was not surprised because it was a tradition in our clan that our house will be the home base for family reunion events which include Christmas day. It was an unwritten and unspoken rule that every Christmas day, my cousins would come and visit our home. It was a dogma of some sort in the family.

The bad thing though, my parents thought differently. They thought that since we have moved to a slightly remote place from where my cousins live, there would be a break in such tradition.

They were dead wrong! So many people came! As in!

They were caught off guard by this occurrence. But what can they do? Family is family. So they had to serve whatever they could to the people who came.

Good thing, we had two sets of pasta sauce to serve. We had the regular red tomato based spaghetti sauce and the to die for white carbonara sauce by my mom!

Thankfully, not one stomach felt hollow because the food was fairly sufficient for them. They even had cake for dessert. Good thing as well, someone gave my Mom a cake for Christmas! And another good thing, I was not voracious enough to have had consumed the cake! Haha!

San ka pa? Super impromptu Christmas party huh! Haha!

I have had about 8 hours of sleep but I am still sleepy.

My yaya was trying to wake me up to eat lunch just awhile ago, and I was having a difficult time opening my droopy eyelids. It was as if I had barely an hour of sleep but in fact I had 8 solid hours of sleep already!

My gawd! My body is indeed on its vacation mode. This means that for my body to function optimally, it has to receive at least 12 hours of sleep! So nice huh!

****************

And Yes!

I am a sloth. And I am the best sloth in bed.

*Yuck! Corny... I don't think it is too coherent...*

****************

My Mom wants me to accompany her to Ayala today. I guess, she is about to do her last minute christmas shopping there.

Hmmmmm..... Should I accept her "invitation"?

I feel too lazy to leave our house at the moment... I just want to lay about and watch TV all day...

Truly a sloth huh?

But... but.... but....

I want to eat too! I mean, I want to eat food bought from a restaurant or a fast food joint.

Still an exhibition of my "slothiness"...

Waaaahhhh!!!!

It is so hard to choose! It is really hard to decide which one takes precedence over the other when food and sleep are the ones being compared! Add to it the fact that they are both physiological needs!

Waaaaahhhh!!!!

I want to sleep... but.... I want to eat as well...

Sleep... Eat... Sleeeeeepppp.... Eeeaaaaattttt...... Sleeeeeeeeeeppppppppp.... Eeeeeaaaaatttttt.....

Blog EntryNew Phone!!!Dec 20, '07 10:22 AM
for everyone
Nope! I do not have one. I just want to have one.

Well, you see, I am "desiring" for a new cellphone for Christmas! I specifically would like to have an iPhone for this holiday season!

I know. I know that the iPhone is so year 2007 for some countries but it is just about to be officially released here in the Philippines this coming year, so it is still relatively new in the country. So if anyone out there is kind enough to give me this gift for Christmas, I'd be truly truly truly happy!

As a token of my appreciation to that kind soul who will give me this gift for Christmas, I would be willing to be your servant for about hmmmmm.... hmmmm.... a day perhaps.

This is such a fair exchange! Imagine me, the bossy and self-centered Eian would be willing to do everything of your bidding without any complaints whatsoever in ONE-WHOLE-DAY! Such a bargain huh?

I'll be waiting for the offers. Just take note that I want a REAL iPhone not the imitation one from China which has a very lousy interface.

And remember, the only way to make the deal happen is once I receive the package. In short, it is D.O.D., Deal On Delivery! Haha!

Yuck! It is like I am so desperate to have a new phone!

Waaaahhhh!!!! If only I had much money to buy this thing on my own, I would be willing to do so. But then, when it comes to that department I always encounter a flat tire.

And because I do not have enough money of my own to buy this thing, I'll have to coerce my parents to do so. IF THAT IS EVEN HUMANELY POSSIBLE. I mean, it will be like shooting for the moon with a rock thrown with your bare hands. Which if you are lucky enough, would ricochet back to you and hit you flat on the forehead.

Which will be so nice for my innately hard skull!

Well you see, my phone is relatively new. It is not even a year old with me. Also, it came about a little pricey when we bought it so it is really impossible for my parents to give me an iPhone! Waaaaahhhh!!! I guess, I'll just have to sulk until another occasion comes along for my request to be at least more feasible to be passed on to the department of budget and management of the Sy family.

Waaaaahhhh!!!

Sulk... Sulk... Sulk....

This is the winning performance of NAC Himig at the Himig Pasko Carol Festival of UP Manila. It was held at the the College of Pharmacy auditorium last December 17, 2007.

I did not join this presentation though I am part of NAC Himig because I did not feel competent enough for such contest.

Here is their second song entitled "All I Want for Christmas"

These are the photos taken during the UP Manila Lantern Parade 2007 last Tuesday, December 18, 2007.

The parade process was fun yet tiring. It was fun because we were able to cheer for our college and Lafangga/Suntinaryo, our college lantern. It was tiring because I was one of the people tasked to carry the electricity generator. Gawd! It was so heavy! This is why I am currently experiencing DOMS (Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness) on my arms and shoulders!

It was really frustrating that Lafangga/Suntinaryo did not win! I know that many people from our batch have spent so much time and effort for "him/her" to be completed. But I know and many people know that the outcome of the contest does not reflect the output of these people who have worked so hard for this endeavor.

No matter what they say, Lafangga/Suntinaryo, our batch and our college are vicotorious!!!

Note: I did not put captions anymore because I am too lazy to do so! Hahaha! ;-)

Blog EntryThe Tree! The Tree!Nov 25, '07 7:18 AM
for everyone
We went to Ayala Makati this day. It is the usual Sunday place for our family. Eventhough, there was a bomb explosion (Yes! It was a bomb. Don't get fooled by the methane gas leak cover up.) we still come and visit this place. We have been accustomed to the place already so it is very comfortable for us to move about on that area.

Add to it the fact that there is a Dairy Queen stand at Glorietta! The reason for coming back in spite the bomb threat is such a no brainer! Haha! If I may add, I ate a brownie temptation blizzard about 3 hours ago! My gawd! The sensation on the taste buds is priceless!

I think my Mom got irritated on me earlier. Because I told her this, "Anu ba yan, Ma? It's almost the end of November but then we still don't have a Christmas tree in our house!"

She replied with glaring eyes, "Don't you realize how busy I am at the office these past few weeks?!?!"

So there I was, speechless.

No matter what happens, I always lose my ability to reason out when I see the angry look upon my Mom's face. In short, tiklop ako, as always. Haha!

But I guess my Mom took my comment very seriously. After lunch, she immediately went to go look for christmas decorations. I was surprised because I thought she had no plans on doing so. What's even more surprising was that she was buying a totally new set of christmas decorations! As in! Even the christmas tree and all that comes with it!

I thought to myself: "Ibang klase magalit ang nanay ko ngayon ah!"

So we went to The Landmark Department store, the former company she worked at. Plenty of Christmas trees flanked the store. There were plenty of people too so it was quite a busy place. She used her connections so that there'll be less hassle on picking the design which will be used to decorate the christmas tree. She bought an eight feet tall tree and had it designed by the in-house designer of the place.

In my mind: "Indeed my Mom is furious! Haha!"

In fairness to the designer, he is quite good upon his craft. The christmas tree looked great!

I was just happy because I did not have to go through the hustle bustle of the crowd for the first of the christmas shopping series, I presume, that we shall have this year.

Note: I don't buy anything during these shopping sessions. I just function as a compass that carries shopping bags.
